This position is the statewide specialist responsible for legislatively required systems level coordination of the complex Michigan Home Visiting Initiative (MHVI). The MHVI is a multi-state department initiative that funds eight evidence-based home visiting programs across the state using multiple funding sources, including Medicaid, each having funding requirements that must be met. This position is responsible for understanding the complexities of each home visiting model and funding source to support coordination with MHVI funders to develop mechanisms that allow sharing of policy, implementation requirements, and data collection and reporting, to support alignment leading to improved family outcomes. This position supports the transmission of information regarding system policy to the more than 300 local home visiting programs implemented across the state. This position, with state partners, supports the development of a coordinated access/no wrong door system for families to access services within complex local systems to ensure families identify the program that is the right fit for themselves. It also coordinates with external partners to support family access and provides coordination and oversight for community outreach specialists. This position participates on the Home Visiting Advisory and Home Visiting Leadership team to address system needs. This position analyzes system level data and identifies opportunities for system improvement for families including addressing disparities and using a trauma and equity informed approach for all activities. See instructions for attaching files here: Instructions Education Possession of a master's degree in public health, health communication, health policy or a public health-related field such as nursing, epidemiology, health education, health economics, dietetics/nutrition management, genetics, or speech and audiology; a master's degree in social work; master's degree in counseling; master's degree in special education with specialization in blind/visual disabilities; or a master's degree in public or business administration with a health care concentration. Experience Four years of professional, post-master's experience as a consultant in a field of public health equivalent to a Public Health Consultant, including two years equivalent to a Public Health Consultant P11 or one year equivalent to a Public Health Consultant 12. Position Location/Remote Office: The physical location of this position is 320 S. Walnut Ave., Lansing, MI 48933. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan.
