Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - (Home Health)
Silver Lantern Therapy Staffing strives to provide premier therapy services for home health clients in the Houston and Greater Houston community (West Houston, Bellaire, River Oaks, Memorial, Katy, Sugarland, Richmond, Rosenberg, Cypress, Fulshear, Brookshire, and Sealy). We believe in providing evidence-based practice to ensure that our clients achieve optimal outcomes. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and compassionate occupational therapy assistants to join our team. Our ideal candidate would possess the following qualities: independent thinker, solid work ethic, goal-oriented, empathetic, self-motivated, reliable, and professional.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, develop, and implement occupational therapy treatment plans with measurable goals written by a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Engage patients with fun, age-appropriate games and activities to keep them motivated.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure quality care.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Licensure: Current and valid Texas occupational therapy assistant license
- Experience:
- All eligible occupational therapy assistant applicants must have at least one-year clinical experience (Acute Care/Home Health preferred).
- Experience with Kinnser preferred
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Other Licensure/Certification:
- Current CPR
- TB Test
- Driver License
- Auto Insurance
- Professional Liability Insurance
Basic Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to maintain various postures such as kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to regularly walk and run for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to transition from sitting to standing and vice versa independently.
- Must be able to utilize quick body movements as may be required by the behavior intervention plan.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Must be able to transfer/position/transport patients and adaptive equipment.
- Must have the visual ability to read and understand written communication via computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
- Must have the manual dexterity to perform electronic device functions such as data collection.
