Responsibilities: - Knowledge of the design development process for various NYSDOT, NYSTA, county, and/or private projects
- Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD design specifications, NYS standard specifications, NYS Highway Design Manual or NYS Bridge Design Manual
- Experience in the design of roadway geometrics; intersections; drainage; erosion and sedimentation control; hydraulic and hydrology analysis
- Knowledge of the sequence of construction and maintenance of traffic plans
- Ability to prepare cost estimates and specifications
Qualifications: - BSCE and EIT certification is required
- PE license is preferred
- 5 to 10 years of experience designing Transportation projects in New York including roadways, bridges, andtrails
Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
- Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
- Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
- Able to wear GPI required PPE, ie, hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
