Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Croydon, CR0
Hours: Full-Time Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP Start
Pay Rate: 110- 125 per day

Long Term Futures are working in partnership with a supportive and high-achieving primary school in Croydon (CR0) to appoint a confident and capable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support across Key Stage 2, with a particular focus on Year 5 and Year 6. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified HLTA or an experienced Teaching Assistant who is looking to step up into a more involved classroom support role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver small group interventions in Maths, Reading, and Writing to pupils in Year 5 and 6
  • Provide targeted support to pupils preparing for SATs and secondary transition
  • Lead the class during short-term teacher absence or PPA cover as needed
  • Work with the class teacher to adapt planning and resources to meet varied learner needs
  • Support pupils with SEND or additional learning needs, ensuring inclusive practice
  • Track pupil progress and provide verbal and written feedback
  • Assist with homework clubs, learning boosters and after-school sessions where required

What You'll Need:

  • A HLTA qualification (Level 4 or above) is desirable
  • Experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistants who are ready to step up will also be considered
  • Prior experience working in Key Stage 2, ideally with Year 5 or Year 6
  • A confident classroom presence and a proactive, flexible attitude
  • Good knowledge of the KS2 curriculum, SATs preparation and differentiation strategies
