Title: High School Varsity Volleyball Coach

Status: Part Time

Reports to: Athletic Director

Voyager Academy is a fully accredited K-12 charter school located in Durham, NC, where students participate in deep learning through authentic project based experiences. We are currently seeking a High School Varsity Volleyball Coach to join our Voyager Athletics Team.

Job Description:

The High School Varsity Volleyball Coach is dedicated to educating student-athletes from diverse backgrounds using sports as the educational platform. Coaches should believe and operate within the athletic department philosophy of inspiring, empowering and legitimizing the dreams of all student-athletes. The role of the High School Varsity Volleyball Coach is to be responsible for coaching, character development and direction to all teams and athletes within the basketball program; such that all achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork and basketball.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interact thoughtfully and respectfully with student-athletes, fellow coaches, teachers, staff, parents and the community
  • Possess positive communication strategies, organization skills and safety awareness

Minimum Education and Experience:

Coaches must be certified or willing to become certified as defined by the NCHSAA and NFHS. This certification includes but not limited to the completion of concussion, fundamentals of coaching courses as well as AED and CPR certification.
