Job Summery: - Assist the head coach with the development, implementation, and monitoring of a successful sports program.
Qualifications: - Minimum of a High School diploma
- Previous youth coaching experience and knowledge of the assigned sport.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but may not be limted to) - Assist the Head Coach with the supervision of participants of the assigned sport (students, volunteers, etc.) during program related activities.
- Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development.
- Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
- Assesses player's skills and assigns team positions.
- Determines game strategy based on the team's capabilities.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision of athletes at all times.
- Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
- Follows WYASD, YAIAA, District III, PIAA and NFHS regulations governing the athletic program.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, and public members.
- Perform the responsibilities of the head coach in his/her absence.
- Teach persistence in the face of adversity.
- Manage conflict in a positive manner.
- Establish and maintain communications with the Athletic Department.
- Exemplify integrity throughout the athletic program.
- Work to improve the fundamental skills, team strategy, and physical fitness that are needed to achieve a degree of individual and team success. These, in turn, should lead to the formulation of normal and ethical values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and individual self-confidence.
- Models sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
- Assist in the development of our student-athletes: academically, physically, mentally, and socially.
- Monitor and mentor student-athletes, including their academic performance, social behaviors, physical condition, and mental well-being.
- Perform the foregoing functions in an exemplary manner.
- Possess skills, knowledge, and fundamentals of the sport coached.
- Be knowledgeable of and enforce WYASD, YAIAA, PIAA, and NFHS rules and regulations.
- Understand the legal duties of coaching.
- Command respect by example.
- Exhibit qualities of leadership.
- Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the Athletic Director or designee.

Compensation: In accordance with the co-curricular agreement.
