Rooted School Star is accepting applications for
High School Basketball Coach.. The
High School Basketball Coach will report to the Athletic Director, Assistant School Leader, and the Executive Director.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES:
- Thorough knowledge of the sport and its strategies and techniques
- Ability to motivate, teach and recruit qualified student-athletes
- Ability to effectively implement school policy & maintain athletic department standards
- Ability to pass a background check
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some youth coaching experience preferred.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead or assist in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competitions three to five (3-5) afternoons / evenings per week
- Assist in recruiting potential student-athletes
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and general assistance according to the needs of the student-athlete
- Assist in promoting and maintaining student-athlete academic success - including supervision of team study sessions
- Assist in the planning and implementation of team fundraising strategies
- Assist with some team transportation responsibilities, as needed
- Additional standard coaching and team leadership responsibilities, as needed
- NOTE: All Middle School Head Coaches will provide some Assistant Coach support to High School counterparts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to drive.
- Frequently lift and carry as much as 50(+) pounds.
- Regularly perform physical activities common to the sport.
- Ability to see, communicate (loudly), utilize equipment common to the sport
- Additional standard coaching-related physical activities
