Role Description
Saint Thomas' Episcopal School is seeking a full-time High School Physics Teacher to join our dynamic Science Department . This is an on-site position responsible for teaching Physics, AP Physics I, and AP Physics C . The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching from a Classical Christian perspective , integrating faith and reason in the study of the natural world, and cultivating wonder and wisdom in students through the lens of scientific inquiry grounded in Biblical truth.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Physics, AP Physics I, and AP Physics C in alignment with Classical Christian pedagogy
- Develop and implement rigorous, organized, and engaging lesson plans
- Promote a classroom culture that fosters virtue, critical thinking, and academic excellence
- Collaborate effectively with the Science Team to align curriculum and contribute to departmental goals
- Prepare students for success in college-level science through instruction in both conceptual understanding and problem-solving
- Assess and report on student progress and maintain open communication with parents and colleagues
- Support the mission of Saint Thomas' Episcopal School through active participation in school life and faculty development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physics or related field (Master's preferred)
- Prior teaching experience, especially in AP-level coursework, is strongly preferred
- A clear understanding of and commitment to Classical Christian education
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- A personal Christian faith consistent with the school's mission and values
