Job Opportunity: Physician in Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology
Join a dynamic healthcare facility located in Worcester, MA, offering a collaborative and supportive environment for professionals in the oncology field. This position provides the opportunity to work in an outpatient setting, addressing essential patient care needs and engaging with a diverse patient population. We are currently seeking a dedicated Physician with a focus on Hematology and Oncology to enhance our strong medical team. An ASAP start is preferred, with a commitment of at least six months, offering at least four days of work per week.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient care in Hematology and Oncology.
- Conduct patient evaluations and follow-ups, managing a patient load of 15 to 18 daily.
- Participate in hospital admissions as needed.
- Coordinate care with other specialists and healthcare providers.
- Respond to clinic calls after hours, with an average call load of 10.
- Utilize EMR systems (ONCO EMR in clinic and Cerner in hospital) for patient documentation.
- Supervise and oversee the activities of nurse practitioners when applicable.
Qualifications:
- Board certification in Hematology and Oncology is required.
- Strong understanding of oncology best practices and patient management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience in handling outpatient settings and managing patient care.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Current, active Massachusetts medical license preferred.
- Board certification in relevant specialty.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
