Coverage Needed :

  • July 21, 2025 - January 24, 2026
  • Schedule: 36 hours of patient-facing care + 4 hours of indirect patient care per week
    • 5 days per week, with 1 day of telehealth optional
    • 7 days with one weekend on-call per month, covering both hospitals for new consultations and evening cross coverage and night calls
    • Call: 24-hour call shifts in hospital

Clinical Details :

  • Practice setting: Outpatient practice with adjacent inpatient oncology hospital, second hospital covered in adjacent community
  • Duties:
    • Patient Care: Diagnose, treat, and manage adult patients with a full spectrum of both benign and malignant conditions, including solid tumors, benign hematology, and malignant hematology
    • Treatment Plans: Develop individualized treatment regimens utilizing tumor boards, clinical trials, and collaboration with dedicated physicians
    • Collaborative Care: Active tumor boards for coordination of care with other specialists
    • Infusion Therapy: Oversee the administration of chemotherapy, transfusion therapy, immunotherapy, and other biologics in the adjacent infusion center
    • Clinical Trials: Multiple clinical trials available with active IRB; enrollment encouraged
    • Education: Educate patients and their families on diagnosis, treatment options, and potential adverse effects
  • Support Staff: Individual medical assistants, shared nurse navigators, oncology social services, registered dietician, board-certified on-site cancer center pharmacy, and on-site specialty pharmacy
  • Radiation Oncology is on-site with Varian Tru-Beam and experienced team. Prostate brachytherapy
    • Onsite PET/CT, mammography, bone density, ultrasound, diagnostic CT, spectrum of routine radiology
  • Average patient load is 1-2 new patients per day and 12 follow up patients
  • Own patients rounded on by provider, night coverage for all patients

Requirements :

  • Licensure: Valid medical license to practice in California
  • Experience: Proven experience in hematology/oncology, with expertise in the diagnosis and management of both hematologic malignancies and solid tumors
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Hematology and Oncology
