The BMT & CT Medical Director will lead all aspects of the Cellular Therapies and Bone Marrow Transplant (CAR T & BMT) program including education, research, accreditation, and clinical programming. The BMT Director will serve as the Medical Director for adult hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy in accordance with FACT-JACIE Standards and other state and federal regulations. The BMT & CT Medical Director will provide leadership for administrative and clinical operations, compliance of program with Foundation for Accreditation of Cellular Therapies (FACT) standards and other regulations/policies.

Essential Functions - Responsible for ongoing operations of all aspect of the BMT and Cellular Therapies Program, including the recruitment of additional team members, as needed, and the expansion of the existing top-tier cellular therapy and transplantation capacities.
- Provides oversight and leadership to staff in respect to all technical procedures, quality processes, and systems of cGMP cell and tissue manufacturing.
- Anticipated institutional collaborative efforts for advancing the BMT and Cellular Therapies Program will include efforts with the Hematology-Oncology Medical Directors, Regenerative Medicine Program Director, and the Quality Directors, as well as members of other leadership teams within AHCI and Allina Health.
- Serve as the Program Director for hematopoietic cellular therapy in accordance with FACT-JACIE Standards.
- Responsible for financial management, human resource management, process development, process improvement, and accreditation for the BMT and Cellular Therapies Program.
- Ensures compliance with requirements of all relevant regulatory and accrediting bodies (ie, FDA, FACT, CIBMTR, AABB).
- Participates on external scientific and professional committees in cellular and tissue therapeutics to advance the reputation of the supported programs.
- Ensures adequate space, capital, and human resources to meet the research and manufacturing needs of the supported clinical programs.
- Participates in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research within AHCI and Allina Health
- Contributes to cellular therapy literature via peer-reviewed publications.
- Actively participates in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical and graduate students.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications - BE/BC in Hematology with ABMS or AOA required.
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required.
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME Hematology/Oncology fellowship training program required.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in clinical use of cellular therapy products is required.
- Expertise in the development of clinical stem cell transplant/cellular therapy products is ideal.
- 5+ years of experience of autologous and allogeneic transplant experience required.
- Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain) required.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI) required.
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges required.
