Job Summary
At Logistics UK, we pride ourselves on having a team of expert Vehicle Inspection Engineers to advise our members. Our engineers are responsible for conducting vehicle audits and maintenance inspections of vehicles, ancillary equipment, and administration systems, providing expert advice on industry changes, vehicle improvements, and compliance.
The role requires flexibility, including regular travel and occasional overnight stays, to ensure all work is completed effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles and systems with precision and professionalism.
- Provide expert insights on compliance and safety to our members.
- Advise on industry changes and best practices.
- Travel across the region, with some overnight stays.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold high standards.
- Represent Logistics UK with integrity, skill, and care.
- Fully trained HGV, PSV, or MHE Engineers, with relevant technical qualifications.
- Minimum qualification: C&G Motor Vehicle Craft Studies Heavy Vehicle, Motor Vehicle Technicians Heavy Vehicle, or (S)NVQ level 2 in HGV, PSV, or Heavy Plant. Candidates with at least 3 years of demonstrable HGV/PSV workshop experience and a current car license with minimal points will also be considered.
- 3 years of experience inspecting the specific vehicle type to meet IRTEC requirements.
- An occupational driving license ("C" for HGV or "D" for PSV) is required, as road testing is part of the inspection process.
- If holding a "D" license, training to achieve a "C" license will be considered.
- Proficiency in IT and ability to learn new systems.
- Highly motivated, able to work independently.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Understanding of fieldwork challenges.
- Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.
- Good knowledge of HGV/PSV testing standards.
