Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Diesel Mechanic Shop Foreman to oversee our busy shop and lead our team of talented diesel mechanics. In this key leadership role, you will ensure the efficient and high-quality repair and maintenance of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, while also managing day-to-day shop operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of diesel mechanics, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the mechanic shop, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, trucks, and heavy machinery.
- Ensure all shop tools and equipment are maintained and in good working condition.
- Monitor the shop's workflow, ensuring productivity, safety, and efficiency standards are met.
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support to the mechanic team.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with management and clients regarding service updates, repairs, and parts needs.
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally and ensure their satisfaction with completed work.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of technicians.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- ASE certifications or equivalent industry certifications preferred.
