Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Diesel Technician

Location: About an hour north of Midland, TX

Overview:

We are working with a large, stable company to help them find a Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Diesel Technician. The position involves the repair and maintenance of heavy earth-moving equipment. No travel. No out of town trips.


Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Diesel Technician Responsibilities:


  • Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on earthmoving equipment.
  • Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Efficient worker able to deliver quality repairs in a timely fashion.
  • Team player and people person who can communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
  • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
  • Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties.


Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Diesel Technician Qualifications:


  • 4 years of experience performing service repairs on earth moving equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of construction and earth moving equipment.
  • Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; associate's degree preferred.
