Job Details

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Permanent Heavy Civil Superintendent to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction with a proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget. This role is integral to our operations and requires a dedicated professional who can lead and inspire a team, while maintaining the highest level of safety and quality standards. As a Heavy Civil Superintendent, you will be responsible for the management and execution of all aspects of heavy civil construction projects, including highways, bridges, and other infrastructure projects. This is a full-time position with competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all stages of project life cycle, managing project development from initiation to closure.
  • Manage all aspects of construction projects, including cost control, scheduling, quality control, and safety management.
  • Supervise and coordinate onsite operations including personnel, subcontractors, and materials.
  • Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, drawings, and applicable building codes.
  • Handle onsite incidents and emergencies in a proactive manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Conduct daily and weekly meetings with project team to discuss progress and address any issues or challenges.
  • Ensure all safety and environmental guidelines are followed strictly.
  • Prepare and submit project reports, and ensure all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, tunnels, and dams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in construction software programs and MS Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong commitment to safety and knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel as needed.
