Duties & Responsibilities

Position Primary Purpose and General Duties:The Hearing Operations & Administrative Coordinator plays a critical role in the efficiency and effectiveness of student conduct processes within the Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity. This position is responsible for the coordination and logistical management of all student conduct hearings, including Student Conduct Hearings, Appeals, and Sanction Review Boards.

In addition to ensuring case efficiency, this role also serves as the primary office manager, overseeing day-to-day administrative operations that support a high-functioning, student-centered team. Responsibilities include office workflow coordination, process improvement, communications management, and resource allocation to support the work of five full-time staff members and 1-2 graduate assistants. The position also supervises student employees, ensuring they receive the training and professional development needed to contribute meaningfully to office operations.

This role requires timely and proactive outreach to faculty, staff, and students to ensure hearings and related processes are scheduled and conducted in a fair, efficient, and organized manner. The coordinator manages case flow, ensuring students receive clear communication regarding expectations, deadlines, and procedures.

Qualifications
Preferred Hiring Standards: A BS or BA degree preferred. Also preferred are knowledge of VCU's policies and procedures, including personnel administration, fiscal administration (Banner, eVa, pCard, and travel), and the staff search process, experience providing support related to projects/events, and experience hiring, training, supervising student staff.
