Job Description

Aspen-Pitkin Healthy Futures Coalition is seeking a candidate for the Program Director position that will oversee the Coalition and its mission, "To bring together partners and resources to reduce substance use and build a community that fosters resilience and healthy futures for Aspen-Pitkin County youth."

The Program Director reports to the Healthy Futures Coalition and Fiscal Agent (Aspen School District) and works collaboratively and in conjunction with Aspen Family Connections, and all Coalition and community partners and stakeholders.

The position will be situated in the Aspen Family Connections office within the Aspen School District.

Position Title: Healthy Futures Coalition Program Director

Reports to: AFC Director

Classification: Classified Full-time Exempt

Contract Period: Year-round, this full-time position will average 40 hours per week- covering traditional Monday-Friday; some evenings and weekend events. This position is grant funded year to year per available funding.

Compensation: $80,000 - $93,000 annual starting salary DOE

Qualifications:
Candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree, or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:
This position requires a detailed, self-starter who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the goals, objectives, and action plan of the 5 year federally funded Drug-Free Communities (DFC) grant.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work to develop, coordinate, and implement strategies that will lead to long term community level change;
  • Cultivate and sustain effective collaborative relationships with community partners;
  • Undertake specific activities including: training, coalition communications, data collection, information dissemination, overseeing community relations, implementation, and evaluation of action plan initiatives.
  • Develop and coordinate protocols/procedures to facilitate DFC grant implementation;
  • Complete action plan initiatives and respond to Coalition needs and expectations.
  • Monitor budget expenditures in compliance with grant and organizational guidelines;
  • Facilitate the development of collection of data, documentation, evaluation and reports on progress and objectives relating to the DFC grant;
  • Provide monthly reporting to the Aspen-Pitkin Healthy Futures Coalition;
  • Support the Coalition in conducting strategic planning and guide coalition development to a comprehensive yearly action plan;
  • Work in collaboration with coalition members and staff of Aspen Family Connections to plan, coordinate, and implement educational and training opportunities for Coalition members and the community;
  • Assist in recruiting additional community participants to build coalition capacity;
  • Monitor and maintain DFC contract compliance guidelines;
  • Assist the Fiscal Agent and External Evaluator with the completion and submission of required DFC reports and applications.

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience in Project Management, Program planning and implementation, evaluation, performance monitoring.
  • Experience in Financial management and reporting and managing and administering budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with, and understanding of, local organizations, services and the community served.
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate coalition meetings and groups effectively.
  • Organize and coordinate multiple projects-multi-task.
  • Demonstrate individual initiative as well as the ability to work in teams.
  • Speak & write clearly, persuasively, effectively, write reports, and make presentations.
  • Prioritize, plan, implement and organize events and meet deadlines.
  • Availability to attend evening, weekend events; flexible schedule/some travel/trainings.
  • Proficiency in Google apps Suite; social media applications experience a plus.
  • Spoken Spanish an advantage.
  • Office environment; exposure to computer screens.
  • Mostly clean and comfortable surroundings.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., bending, squatting, standing, reaching, sitting, walking, and stooping, occasional climbing, and repetitive motion.
