Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 5% of the time. Medical examination required prior to hiring and annually thereafter. This position requires the wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Minimum Requirements for 1306 series can be found here The following competencies are needed for this position: Expert knowledge of principles of health physics and related disciplines to analyze and resolve complex problems. Expert knowledge of radiation safety to incorporate new regulations and protocols to training for the ATC Workforce. Skill in resolving existing or potential problems relative to health physics and radiation safety. Ability to select, interpret and adapt health physicist precedents to participate in long range planning for radiation safety studies involving radiation (ionizing and non-ionizing) projects and programs. Ability to investigate accidents and incidents involving ionizing or non-ionizing radiation, and of occurrences involving potential radiation overexposure.
