Position Details:

This position is located in Topeka, Kansas. Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST

Wage:
  • Transaction Processing Associate III Bilingual - $17.75/hr
  • Transaction Processing Associate III - $17.25/hr
Role Overview:

As part of the KanCare Clearinghouse Program, you will take on the vital role of Eligibility Professional. This involves gathering detailed documentation and entering information into various systems to determine eligibility for federal and state medical assistance. Your work will directly impact the assessment of applicants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze initial applications and supporting documents for Family Medical programs to determine eligibility for medical assistance. Investigate applicant circumstances using available computer systems and databases, assessing household income, resources, and expenses.
  • Enter household information into the Kansas Economic and Enforcement System (KEES) and make eligibility determinations based on state and federal regulations. Document decisions in an electronic case journal and communicate results to applicants.
  • Utilize your understanding of state eligibility processes to address various consumer inquiries.
  • Engage in ongoing training to deepen your expertise in Kansas Medicaid eligibility programs.
  • Stay updated with the latest regulations, policies, and operational guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to navigate complex software systems.
  • Strong data entry skills, with a typing speed of 28-30 words per minute accurately.
Experience with MS Office, Outlook, and Internet navigation is essential.

Preferred Skills:
  • Understanding of Medicaid and managed care programs.
  • At least two years of experience in determining eligibility for Long-Term Care, Elderly and Disabled, or Family Medical assistance.
  • Ability to communicate in both Spanish and English fluently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
Compensation and Benefits:

The pay for this position is competitive, with an hourly rate of $17.25. In addition to your base salary, eligibility for bonuses or incentives may apply.
