Head Women's Basketball Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the university's women's basketball program, ensuring a commitment to excellence in athletics, academics, and character development. This position will manage day-to-day operations, recruit and mentor student-athletes, and uphold the integrity of the program in alignment with the university's mission and NCAA Division II guidelines.
Responsibilities - Recruit and retain talented student-athletes who exemplify high character and academic dedication.
- Manage the program budget responsibly in accordance with university and athletic department policies.
- Schedule and coordinate practices, competitions, and off-season training.
- Oversee all aspects of team travel and game-day operations.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of basketball facilities and equipment.
- Develop and implement strength and conditioning programs in coordination with athletic performance staff.
- Monitor and support student-athletes' academic progress toward degree completion in partnership with the compliance and academic support offices.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate assistant coaches and support staff.
- Maintain a positive and professional environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and leadership development.
- Adhere to all university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate consistent, punctual attendance and maintain a visible presence within the athletics department.
Education - Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a collegiate women's basketball coach; prior head coaching experience strongly preferred.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds.
