Head Volleyball Coach

Position Description

POSITION: Head Volleyball Coach

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Coaching experience preferred
• Possess effective communication skills
• Ability to work part-time and weekends (approximately 35 hours per week)
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs to shoulder height occasionally
• CPR and first aid certified
• Teaching license or college degree preferred
• Minimum of 60 college hours & advanced training & teaching of swimming

REPORTS TO: Athletic Director

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits to be established .

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Volleyball Team competes competitevly in volleyball competitions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Comprehensive knowledge of the rules and fundamentals of volleyball.
2. Maintain an accurate inventory of school equipment.
3. To model fundamental skills.
4. To place a team on the field of competition.
5. To screen student athletes for membership on a team.
6. Provide eligibility lists, rosters, and other paperwork as required by administration.
7. To effectively recruit, condition, and train players through camps and individual contacts.
8. Attend volleyball meets as scheduled.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Work collaboratively with other coaches & staff.
2. Follow district policies, rules and regulations.
3. Perform basic first aid on players if needed & have current CPR training.
4. Follows the direction of the Athletic Director.
5. Maintain positive relations with students & parents.
6. Model proper dress, language, demeanor and student/teacher relations.
