Northern Cass High School is seeking applications for Head Varsity Volleyball Coach. The coach selected for this position will lead one of the most successful volleyball programs in the state of North Dakota. Northern Cass volleyball has won three state championships and will begin its first year in Class 'A' next year. The program is looking for a coach who utilizes the attributes of accountability, adaptability, leadership, a learner's mindset, and communication.

The varsity coach is responsible for planning and developing a comprehensive elementary to high school program. Head coaches are responsible for outlining specific duties for their assistant coaches and to provide the leadership and direction that is necessary. The varsity coach is responsible to the Activities Director.
- Provide efficient administration of the assigned sport. This responsibility includes complete and accurate inventories, communication, practice events, safety precautions, public relations and requisition requests.Visit elementary and junior high school practices whenever possible.
- Coordinate and supervise the instructional program in the assigned sport.
- Complete online rules clinic for NDHSAA.
- Keep informed of current research and utilize the techniques available in the continual improvement of the assigned sport.
- Work with the Athletic Trainer to ensure athletes are healthy and safe.
- Provide leadership for preseason, in-season, post-season meetings and clinics.
- Assist the Activities Director in correcting individual staff deficiencies and make recommendations for employment or reemployment.
- Attend meetings with the Activities Director as required.
- Recommend supplies and equipment to be purchased.
- Evaluate assistant coaches.
- Use a well-formulated plan for each practice.
- Cooperate in sharing the use of facilities with other sports/activities.
- Relate positively to athletes.
- Establish a clearly defined set of rules governing conduct and implement them in a fair and consistent manner.
- Set realistic goals for individual athletes and the team.
- Use the news media and other methods to promote the program.
- Build interest and support for the program.
- Determine letter winners and special player awards.
- Provide supervision of players in locker rooms before and after practice.
- Complete NDHSAA requirements for Coaching Certification (Grades 9-12 coaches only) 6
- Know and maintain school policies and procedures.
- Maintain information regarding classroom or school behavior, and/or personal information in a confidential manner and discuss only with proper school personnel.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with parents, coaches, and athletes.
- Other duties as assigned.
