Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and instruction toward the athletic development of each student-athlete in the Brookstone football program.
- Stress the importance of classroom performance and monitor an athlete's academic status.
- Oversee the activities of the football staff in planning, organizing and coaching of the Brookstone high school and middle school football programs.
- Direct the football staff in the preparation of analysis of opponent teams; analyze game statistics and tactical data of opponents and prepare game plans accordingly.
- Counsel team members in academic or disciplinary matters; consult with Brookstone administration and faculty for resolution of problems as required.
- Study, evaluate and implement innovations in football strategy and equipment.
- Represent Brookstone football programs in a professional manner at civic, charity or alumni events. This also applies to printed or televised media.
- Candidates should have the ability to instruct athletes in game techniques and strategies to prepare them for competition and determine the need for individual and team improvement.
- Sufficient knowledge and experience in conducting an in-season and out-of-season strength and conditioning program that fits within the mission of the school.
- Maintains accurate student and team records.
- Work closely with the Athletic Director to determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor, verify and reconcile expenditures of budgeted funds.
- Oversee the school's facilities to maintain the proper use and maintenance of such facilities as the locker rooms, practice facilities, stadium, and athletic fields.
- Ability to serve as a head coach or assistant coach in another sport during the winter or spring seasons.
- Ability to contribute to the school community in the classroom or other comparable capacity.
Key Qualifications
- Proven interpersonal, instructional leadership, people management and communication skills
- An in-depth understanding and knowledge of football strategies, rules, and techniques
- A passion for high school students and their development as young men and women
- Five or more years of experience coaching football at the varsity level as a head coach or in a coordinator position in a strong football program
- Experience coaching football at an independent school.
Physical Requirements
Monday through Friday 7:30 AM - 4 PM, flex time during the season.
