- Pension System: Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city's pension system.

About the Role As the
Head Summer Day Camp Counselor, you'll lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the summer camp program at
Warnersville Recreation Center. Your responsibilities include:
- Program Management: Plan, organize, and implement daily schedules with activities like crafts, sports, music, wellness, and field trips.
- Leadership: Supervise and mentor children and camp staff, exemplifying the City of Greensboro's Core Values (Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Stewardship).
- Safety and Communication: Ensure the well-being of campers, handle emergencies, and maintain positive relationships with parents and staff.
- Administrative Tasks: Keep accurate records, respond to program inquiries, and ensure the camp area is clean and organized.
Must work as scheduled from May through August and have reliable transportation.The Job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.Qualifications What You BringMinimum Qualifications: - Valid Driver's License
- Experience working with school-aged children and in a summer camp setting
- Proficiency in Word and Excel software
- Must be at least 18 years old by June 1, 2024
- Willingness to participate in swim activities with campers
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain before camp starts)
Preferred Qualifications: - Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in education or related field
- Experience with recreation management software
- Bilingual skills
Other Requirements: - Must be available for the entire camp season and all training sessions
- Reliable transportation
