Head Start Family Service Worker JobID: 3254 Position Type: Early Childhood/Family Service Worker Date Posted: 11/13/2024 Location: Horace Mann Early Learning Center Date Available: ASAP Closing Date: Open Until Filled Additional Information: Show/Hide Family Service Worker The Family Service Worker (FSW) is responsible for recruiting and enrolling income-eligible children and families for the program, as well as representing the program as a community resource in the delivery of high-quality social services. The FSW works hand-in-hand with teachers to foster child and family well-being. The FSW builds trusting relationships with families and provides services that are responsive to each family's individual living situation, cultures, beliefs, values, languages, practices, and traditions. The FSW helps families identify their strengths and needs by providing available resources to work towards their goals for their children's development and family's well-being. WORK SCHEDULE: This is a 12-month position and will work 8 hours per day on all regularly scheduled workdays according to the Family Service Worker schedule (256 days). SALARY INFORMATION: This position will be paid hourly according to the Family Service Salary Schedule with a range of $43,222 - $55,663 annually. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in a Social Services field (i.e. Psychology, Sociology, etc). Must have a car, a valid driver's license, and insurance. The ability to establish working relationships with staff members, parents, children, and a wide variety of agencies and institutions. Demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of community services. Physical ability to interact with preschool children and ability to lift 50 pounds. This position is considered a non-exempt position.
