Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of a strategic data quality framework to support surveillance activities across multiple business lines and jurisdictions.

  • Oversee end-to-end management of trading data-ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery from front-office systems through to surveillance platforms.

  • Act as a senior point of contact for regulatory and audit engagements relating to surveillance data, ensuring alignment with global compliance standards.

  • Partner with technology teams to enhance data pipelines, embed controls, and introduce automation and advanced analytics to flag potential anomalies or gaps.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across Compliance, Trading, Ops, and Risk to continuously improve data flows and surveillance effectiveness.

  • Lead investigations into complex data issues, drive root cause analysis, and implement long-term remediation and prevention strategies.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 7+ years' experience in trade surveillance, market compliance, or data governance within a trading or capital markets environment.

  • Strong understanding of global markets across asset classes, particularly equity, FICC, and derivatives.

  • Familiarity with surveillance platforms and tools such as Actimize, SMARTS, OneTick, or similar.

  • Strong technical acumen with working knowledge of SQL and/or Python; comfortable with large-scale data environments.

  • Experience engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.

  • Track record of leading cross-functional projects in complex, regulated settings.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to cloud-based data infrastructure and AI/ML tools for data analytics or surveillance enhancement.

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Data Science, Computer Science).
