Head of Physics - Ealing, London

An outstanding secondary school based in Ealing is seeking a Head of Physics to join their thriving Science department.
This is a permanent full-time role starting in September 2025.
Inner London MPS/UPS + TLR will apply.

Head of Physics - Ealing, London

  • Lead and develop the Physics curriculum across all key stages, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning that inspires curiosity and academic excellence.

  • Support and guide a dedicated team of science teachers, promoting best practice and continuous professional development.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching strategies, student progress, and departmental targets.

  • Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and achievement in the physical sciences.

  • Be an active and collaborative member of the wider school community, contributing to the school's ethos of excellence and aspiration.

Qualifications and Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • A degree in Physics or a closely related field

  • Proven experience of teaching Physics across KS3-KS5

  • Previous leadership experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate

  • Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills

  • A genuine passion for science education and the ability to inspire young minds
