We are seeking a seasoned and visionary IT Director to join a well-established and reputable organization based in Chicago. This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to executive leadership, where you will be responsible for shaping and executing the organization's overall IT strategy. You will oversee all aspects of technology operations and infrastructure, ensuring that IT systems, applications, and support functions effectively serve the evolving needs of the business.


Role Overview:

As the Head of IT, you will lead a dynamic team of IT professionals and manage a variety of technical domains including infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, business applications, and user support. You will play a critical role in aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals, improving operational efficiency, and driving innovation.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic IT Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the organization's IT roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance on emerging technologies and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Present IT plans, updates, and risk assessments to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Policy & Process Development:

  • Establish, review, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices across all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Infrastructure & Cloud Management:

  • Oversee the administration and optimization of the organization's Windows and Azure-based environments.
  • Manage enterprise systems, networks, servers, and databases to ensure performance, availability, and scalability.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management:

  • Develop and implement a robust cybersecurity strategy to safeguard sensitive data and systems.
  • Monitor for threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring swift and effective incident response.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing IT team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and professional development for IT staff.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

  • Work closely with department heads to understand business challenges and propose technology-driven solutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement of IT services and products.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with technology trends, evaluating new tools and solutions that can enhance business operations.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve the user experience across the organization.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior IT management or leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise IT environments, particularly in Windows Server and Microsoft Azure platforms.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse IT teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
