About the Role

  • The Head of Human Resources will serve as the tactical and strategic business leader for the Human Resources department and Company executives. The position is responsible for HR organizational development, recruiting, employee relations, employee engagement and satisfaction, performance management, and compensation and benefits analysis. This role serves as the primary point of our culture, working directly with our most important asset, our employees.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Company's HR operations, including recruiting and hiring, talent management, and benefits administration.
  • Identify and track key performance indicators for the Company's HR Department and assess the Company's success and market competitiveness based on the metrics.
  • Oversee recruiting, endeavoring to optimize recruiting expenditures and shorten the time between job posting and hiring closure.
  • Develop strategic staffing plans and programs to identify and develop talent within and outside the organization for all positions.
  • Develop HR planning models to identify competency, knowledge, and talent gaps.
  • Benchmark Company's compensation and benefits relative to local and national indices versus industry.
  • Work with CEO in updating performance review and progressive discipline process and ensure managers are trained and following set expectations.
  • Consult with management and team members to improve working relationships, build employee morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Oversee and manage the administration of employee surveys to promote employee engagement, department alignment, and realization of higher employee ratings of Company based on survey results over time.
  • Supervise, motivate, and develop a team of dedicated HR professionals; encourage their growth in skills, knowledge and professional standing.
  • Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required, master's degree preferred.
  • At least ten years' experience in HR functions, preferably for a manufacturing or consumer product company.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.

  • Willingness to be hands on and roll up sleeves as necessary.
  • Strong at both abstract and concrete thinking.
  • Ability to monitor the organization's heartbeat in terms of employee engagement and team performance is vital.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the lighting industry and/or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM.
