The Role
Join Imperial Brands, a FTSE-listed global FMCG business, home to around 25,000 talented individuals operating in over 100 countries. As the Head of Group Finance Systems, you will manage our diverse finance systems, including IBM Cognos Controller, PR+, MicroStrategy, and Anaplan, ensuring their effectiveness and stability. This pivotal role empowers our global finance function, providing confidence to senior finance leadership through robust system outputs and processes.
In this dynamic position, you will lead a team of analysts and collaborate with leaders across various markets, factories, and our corporate center. Your leadership will extend to managing relationships with external stakeholders, including IT partners, software vendors, and auditors. Driving successful transformation is key, as you shape the future of our world-class Group Finance function, support Project Unify's ERP upgrade, and optimize our Global Business Services function. Principle Accountabilities
- Identify and review key finance system processes, enhance resilience, and ensure contingencies are in place whilst also identifying and mitigating risks within finance systems, ensuring robust financial data.
- Develop and maintain a robust approach for group finance systems, ensure timely upgrades of finance systems, develop and manage a roadmap for future upgrades, and engage stakeholders proactively.
- Drive a performance-based culture across your team, support delivery against objectives, develop talent, and role model Imperial Brands leadership behaviors, engaging team members and stakeholders proactively.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their system needs, build strong relationships, and support ongoing development.
- Manage user experience, design and deliver engagement plans, and improve self-sufficiency across the business.
- Support the 'One Finance' strategy, drive continuous improvement, and enable Imperial's transformation agenda.
- Lead on Finance Transformation topics, including the Unify S-4 Hana implementation, and support the wider finance transformation agenda.
Skills and Experience Required
- A qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) with extensive experience in a similar large, complex matrix business environment.
- Expertise in IFRS and experience in a listed Group technical financial reporting role.
- Demonstrable leadership skills, adept at managing and supporting both direct and indirect finance teams, fostering a cohesive and engaged team environment.
- Ability to influence a positive working culture, build the right team for the future, and drive project and change management initiatives with high impact.
- Ability to translate complex, specialist, and technical topics into understandable language for non-specialists.
- Strong commercial awareness to support the business with appropriate system solutions.
