KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a key member of the U.S. management team, the Head of Finance will act as a strategic, trusted partner to the Group CFO and senior management team on all matters relating to the financial strategy and operations of the company. This position is the financial leader for a dynamic, privately owned, global company dedicated to superior quality, sustainability, and innovation with a management team that believes that their success is driven by their people, culture, supplier partners, and commitment to commercial excellence. The Head of Finance will lead and develop the operational and strategic management of the US business with a focus on Finance & Controlling. Further, the Head of Finance must establish credibility within the organization and be a strong leader in driving continued profitability and establishing a best-in-class Finance and Accounting function.
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Independent preparation of meaningful analyses, forecasts, and options for action for senior management in order to generate impetus for growth and earnings;
- Coordination of the budget planning process and controlling process as well as financial year-end closing process across all US locations (6 in total);
- Preparation of medium-term plans, ad-hoc analyses, and meaningful presentations for the management;
- Project work as well as improvement and further development of structures and processes including recommendations for action;
- Conceptual and systemic further development of analysis and control instruments;
- Preparation of decision papers for management and the operational divisions as well as monitoring of measures including success control with the managers;
- Administrative and legal activities (Corporate Secretary), contact person for auditors, tax authorities;
- Overseeing 2 FTE (1 controller / 1 finance).
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates should have a broad understanding of business operations as well as demonstrated strength in leadership, communications, and business analysis and judgement to complement proven financial technical skills. While no specific industry experience is required, manufacturing experience would be valuable. Previous experience within a privately held, dynamic global company preferred.
Additionally:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, and/or other relevant major is required; MBA, Master's and/or CPA preferred;
- 6-8+ years in relevant FP&A or Controllership experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment;
- Strong strategic acumen to complement proven operational ability; experience leading teams;
- 3+ years of professional experience in an internationally orientated manufacturing company is advantageous;
- Experience working in multiple ERP environments such as SAP (CO) and BI tools (Qlik View / Qlik Sense);
- Experienced with MS Office, especially Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Ability to work in a team, independence, high social competence;
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with technical contexts.
