Role Overview:
As Head of Production you will be responsible for the output of Brand Experience in the US ensuring all our activations are delivered to the highest creative and production standards. You will work in partnership with the Global Head of Brand Experience to strategically deliver projects with a focus on the US clients and a support role on the UK office and global business. You'll be responsible for ensuring that Brand Experiences, new business pitches and creative presentation documents are produced efficiently, on budget and in-line with SEEN Group's standard of creative and culturally connected excellence.
You will play a fundamental role as an advocate for SEEN BX client business ambitions alongside having a deep-rooted understanding of project resource, creative process, production needs and client servicing The Head of Production is responsible for ensuring that all SEEN BX clients receive outstanding deliverables in line with the client's brief, budget and expectations working closely with other SEEN Group divisions.
Based in the SEEN Group NYC office, you'll be a leading voice for Brand Experience in the US, while also supporting on global resourcing and being a right hand to the Global Head of Brand Experience. The Head of Production will be a critical link between all other SEEN Group departments (Beauty SEEN, SEEN Works and CXS) and SEEN BX, ensuring that new briefs are quantified using production, creative and client service expertise.
You'll be responsible for ensuring projects are properly resourced in line with budgets and project needs, using internal and external (where needed) staffing and suppliers and leading the teams to successful delivery.
You will be responsible for ensuring projects are run with best in class project management including timelines, resource planning, budgeting and financial planning.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Production and Team Leadership:
- Overseeing US event budgets, ensuring project resource, profitability and production feasibility checks have been created.
- Signing off & negotiating commercial terms with suppliers.
- Oversee the US production team, line managing and mentoring fulltime and freelance team members, while supporting global resource allocation when US expertise is needed
- Being a voice of expertise on all production related matters both internally and externally.
- Lead our health and safety responsibilities ensure all risks are adequately addressed and work with Group General Counsel to ensure relevant insurance protocols are in place.
- Global Pipeline visibility and responsibility for US updates and forecasting - collaborating with GHOBX.
- Lead interactions with global business functions specific to the US activations - HR, Legal, Finance, Insurance, IT, Procurement.
- Contribute to global budget standardization and project management process improvement.
Client Servicing:
- Leading US Client Relationships and optimising opportunities for account growth and development.
- Diplomatically managing client expectations and creative concepts to ensure delivery is feasible within budgets and timeframes.
- Understanding of client objectives to ensure creative delivery is on track while acting as the clients voice in projects and proposals.
- Ensuring client SOWs and finances are managed and dealt with working closely with internal finance and legal teams to ensure compliance.
Project Management:
- Championing SEEN ways of working to ensure Best in Class project and client management is delivered on every project no matter the size.
- Working with the Head of Brand Experience to further develop and improve existing processes to improve efficiencies and practices.
New Business:
- Acting as a lead on new business pitches globally where required ensuring timelines are met, resource is planned and creative proposals reflect SEEN Group best in class delivery.
- Identifying opportunities within existing SEEN Group retained clients across the CXS and Communications divisions within the business working closely with senior department leads where necessary to mobilize conversations.
SEEN Group Marketing:
- Working with the Marketing team ensure Brand Experience Projects show up on social media and our case studies as their best.
- Collaborate on internal global requests specific to marketing - Linkedin, Case Studies,
Global Business Responsibilities:
- Lead the US updates and agenda items in global production planning sessions
- Maintain relationships with key global vendors that can support multi-region activations led from the US
- Share US vendor insights and recommendations with global teams when applicable
- Support global team members on complex productions by sharing US market insights and production solutions.
- Lead training sessions on US production best practices for local and global team members.
- Mentor international junior production staff through global development initiatives.
- Provide US market insights to global strategy sessions for international clients with US presence
Experience and Skillsets required:
- Minimum of 10 years experience in event specific production.
- Minimum of 5-7 years in an event specific agency environment.
- Experience of leading a production team including team and stakeholder management.
- Experience managing client relationships at a day to day project delivery level as well as strategically.
- Expert knowledge of production suppliers, techniques, requirements, health and safety requirements and permitting within the US.
- Demonstrable experience in creative thinking working alongside Creative teams and supplier to bring ideas to fruition.
- Be abreast of event industry trends and creative executions within the beauty industry to ensure concepts stand out creatively and are executed flawlessly.
- Deep rooted understanding of the skillsets required to deliver a range of productions across technical and creative needs and at what stage of a project each should be engaged.
- Understanding of the project management process and the resources and tools required for best in class delivery including detailed project and resource plans.
- Ability to travel domestically and globally as and when required for live project delivery.
- Flexibility to work across global time zones as required by projects, clients and internal teams.
