Head of Cloud Innovation

DESCRIPTION At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we're committed to innovating on behalf of our customers. We're seeking a leader to drive our Department of Defense (DoD) cloud adoption strategy. This role will serve as our primary thought leader and spokesperson for cloud technology within The Department of Defense. You will establish deep business and technical relationships through your knowledge of the customer's mission and the environment. You will have day-to-day interactions within the larger account and with the community of partners that support the global account and its customers. The ideal candidate will possess a business background that enables them to drive an engagement at an executive level. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Secret security clearance. Key job responsibilities Develop and articulate compelling visions for cloud adoption across the entire DoD landscape Serve as the lead presenter in high-level customer engagements, representing AWS's cloud solutions Synthesize complex technical concepts into clear value propositions for senior DoD leadership Collaborate across AWS teams to identify emerging technologies and their potential applications in defense Create and deliver thought leadership content through various mediums (whitepapers, presentations, workshops) Provide strategic guidance to sales teams across all DoD verticals (4th Estate, Navy/COCOM, Army, Air Force) Participate in key industry panels and events representing the DoD business
Support, where applicable, DoD strategic capture initiatives in coordination with the BD/Capture team
Influence product development based on deep understanding of DoD needs and challenges
Translate customer requirements/mission related to business opportunity to AWS senior leaders This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of cloud technology in defense at a strategic level. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience selling cloud solutions at a software company or equivalent
- Experience with AWS and technology as a service (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
