Head of Audio Growth and Strategy

The Head of Audio Growth & Strategy will be responsible for leading the company's audio initiatives, including enhancing our existing audio app and developing new applications, strategies and partnerships that transform our audio experiences. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong business acumen and deep understanding of platform integration, analytics and monetization strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for audio content, ensuring alignment with respective brands and across platforms.
  • Establish key partnerships with audio platforms, sponsors, distributors, and content creators to expand the company's reach and impact.
  • In partnership with product, marketing and tech, develop and implement revenue and audience growth and diversification plan with key monetary and audience targets
  • Drive the ideation of content strategies to minimize user friction and ensure metrics are met for revenue, acquisition, conversion and retention.
  • Lead the development of new audio applications that leverage the company's print content, integrating across platforms to create seamless user experiences.
  • Collaborate with editorial, content production, marketing, and technology teams to ensure the successful development and launch of audio products.
  • Define and track key performance metrics to measure success and optimize audio content offerings; analyze user feedback and performance metrics to optimize existing content and guide future production decisions.
  • Run weekly and monthly analytics meetings focused on performance, competitive analysis and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with finance to optimize audio budgeting and business model for growth
  • Analyze user feedback and performance metrics to optimize existing content and guide future production decisions, continuously improving the app's audio offerings and overall user satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of experience in audio, media, or digital strategy, with at least 4 years' experience in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in driving mobile app growth and user acquisition through strategic planning and funnel optimization for digital platforms.
  • Demonstrated history of launching and optimizing audio, media or content products and apps, ideally for consumer-facing brands.
  • Partnership experience with major media platforms (e.g. Spotify, Apply Podcasts), sponsors, and content creators.
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with SEO, ASO, and digital marketing tactics to boost discoverability of audio content.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate audience insights and analytics into actionable growth plans.
  • Expertise in media monetization models, including advertising, subscriptions, and affiliate opportunities.
  • Proficient in data analytics, audience segmentation, and performance metrics (e.g., MAU, LTV, retention).
  • Adept at building and managing budgets, financial models, and media business plans
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and basic analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).

  • An analytical mindset with a passion for results-driven decision-making.
  • Comfortable in evolving environments and able to pivot strategies based on data and audience behavior.

Job Location & Travel Requirements:

Guideposts is based in the NYC Metro Area. Candidates must live within this region or work remotely and be willing to travel to our Danbury, CT office on a quarterly basis, with occasional travel between these visits depending on business needs.

Salary:

$100,000 - $130,000


Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including skills and experience.
