ResX is changing the way people make last-minute plans. Our platform allows users to exchange in-demand, last-minute reservations at the hottest spots in their city, solving the frustration of finding or forfeiting reservations.
We're looking for a US-based Head of Engineering who's comfortable being both hands-on and strategic, with 8+ years of full-stack mobile experience to help take ResX to the next level. This is a key leadership hire - you'll shape our tech strategy, own engineering execution, and play a critical role in building the product as we scale.
Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of feature development - from scoping and architectural planning to implementation and launch
- Oversee infrastructure and system architecture to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability
- Build and maintain our mobile applications (Android and iOS) using React Native
- Collaborate with our offshore dev team to align on priorities and drive execution
- Manage third-party integrations (e.g. Twilio, Stripe, and RevenueCat)
- Lead and mentor junior developers as the team grows
- Maintain code quality, app performance, and responsiveness across the platform
- Partner with product and design to translate ideas into scalable features
- Contribute to long-term tech strategy and roadmap decisions
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong track record building and shipping production mobile applications.
- Proven experience with React and React Native in a production environment.
- Full-stack experience required, ideally with NodeJS, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and third-party service integrations (e.g. Twilio, Stripe, RevenueCat).
- Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like GitHub Actions, Docker, and Terraform is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Clear communicator, able to work cross-functionally with product, design, and operations teams.
- Interest in restaurants, dining culture, or the culinary scene is a plus.
