QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of the process, procedures, and methods associated with food preparation and nutrition is required.
- Ability to work with and supervise personnel.
- Must successfully pass required annual physical examinations by mandated by law.
- Ability to maintain food service operational reports.
- Such additions to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL:
- To insure that health requirements and menu planning is performed in such a manner as to conform with predetermined USDA regulations.
- To provide a nutritious and pleasing menu for students and faculty.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans all menus in accordance with USDA and food services requirements.
- Orders all necessary food supplies. Stocks kitchen/food storage area.
- Ensures that lunchrooms and kitchen cleanliness standards are adhered to.
- Maintains daily records as it relates to the food service system.
- Prepares food daily. Stands, bends, lifts, carries various items in kitchen/storage area.
- Supervises assistant cook and kitchen helpers and other food service personnel as directed.
- Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Normally 7.5 hours per day/ 5 days per week - 175 working days (school year) with 7 paid holidays. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education in accordance with the Classified Salary & Benefit Package.
EVALUATION: A performance review will be conducted annually in accordance with the provisions established by the administration and the Board.
