Men and Women's Track and Field

Midway University, located 14 miles outside Lexington, KY, is seeking a full-time head coach to lead our track and field programs. This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports directly to the Athletic Director.

Key responsibilities include the following:

Recruiting, with the Admissions team, to achieve roster goals, competitive success, and academic performance in accordance with admissions procedures and scholarship requirements.

Organizing, scheduling, and leading daily practice sessions, game plan preparation and strategy, competitions, and off-season training.

Coordinating travel arrangements for away contests.

Supporting academic progress and enforcing discipline and sportsmanship behavior.

Hiring, supervising, and evaluating assistant coach(es) and program volunteers.

Budgeting, fundraising, promoting and marketing the program.

Additional duties may be assigned by the Athletic Director.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred.

Demonstrated coaching experience is required, with head or assistant collegiate-level experience preferred.

Familiarity with and working knowledge of NAIA rules, along with a strong commitment to compliance, are essential.

Availability to work evenings and weekends, as well as travelling for away games, is required.

Initiative and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Sound judgment and the ability to respond to emergency situations promptly.

Commitment to the academic and life skills development of student-athletes.

Ability to maintain effective working relationships across campus.

Previous experience in recruiting student-athletes and managing coaching staff.
