Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Manages and oversees the operations of the baseball program including but not limited to recruiting, retaining, and helping student athletes graduate.
- Practice/game management, skill development, travel organization, academic supervision, equipment management, and fundraising.
- Must teach life skills, provide academic support, and impart baseball specific knowledge and training to the student athletes.
- Supports the mission of the university by serving the greater Kokomo community and region on committees and helping to keep regional talent in the area.
- Must follow University, River State Conference and NAIA policies and compliance regulations.
- Assists in the management and maintenance of the Kokomo Municipal stadium, supervise assistant coaches, volunteer coaches and student employees.
- Planning practices, preparing schedules, maintaining equipment inventory, managing budgets and scholarship dollars.
- Additionally, it is expected the Head Coach will serve on NAIA and River States Conference Committees as requested.
- Game Day management as needed.
- Should be committed to the success of the entire athletics department, contributing positively to a culture of teamwork, shared purpose, and mutual support across all programs.
General Responsibilities
- Complies fully with all NAIA, applicable athletic conference, and Indiana University rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
- Provides leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student athletes by counseling team members in academic, disciplinary, sportsmanship, and personal matters, as appropriate.
- Develops a competitively successful team to represent Indiana University positively and responsibly. Provides student athletes the opportunity for a positive experience and climate in which to achieve their academic, athletic, and personal goals.
- Performs recruiting duties by formulating a plan to incorporate coverage of all prospective student athletes and recruiting high-quality student-athletes that meet or exceed university qualifications.
- Represents the team, department, and university in a positive, professional, and ethical manner; responds appropriately to media, marketing, fund-raising, and community service requests, as assigned. Exhibits professionalism in a manner consistent with the missions and goals of Indiana University, applicable athletic conference, and the NAIA.
- Directs coaching staff, when applicable.
- Maintains program budget.

Working Conditions / Demands This position requires both sedentary work and long durations of movement about the workspace. It requires the ability to move and transport objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential tasks with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary $42,000 annually
