Summary: Manages the intercollegiate men's tennis program in accord with NCAA, Conference, and Principia College rules; conducts a recruiting/student enrollment program; plans and executes tennis events, works with students in balancing their academic/athletic responsibilities; fully participates in professional advancement; coordinates cooperatively with AT, women's program, SID, Event and Facility Staff. Full-time, 10-month position.

Work Performed - Essential Duties: Manages the intercollegiate Men's Tennis program in accord with NCAA, conference, and Principia College rules: - Develops in-season/out of season training plans. Coordinates with strength and conditioning coach.
- Works with the Athletics Director to develop playing schedule working to minimize missed classes.
- Develops effective technical/skill, and strategic/tactical content of program.
- Develops game and practice plans/ develops and applies assessment plans.
- Supervises equipment issue, recovery, and inventory.
- Makes recommendations to the Athletics Director annually regarding budget, equipment, and facility needs.
- Coordinates home game management, including facility set up/ break down and stats. Attends to facility maintenance alerting Assoc. AD of facility issues. Ensures proper issuing, collection and care of uniforms. Attends to all equipment relevant to the sport and maintains all storage areas associated with the sport.
- Ensure SID has info. to apply for awards through conference/ national office (player of the week, academic recognition )
- Makes away game travel arrangements. Plans and manages spring break travel.
- Coordinates with Athletics Director, Alumni Office, and Advancement teams to develop and maintain appropriate relations with alumni and the community.
- Adheres to NCAA, conference and Principia College rules and expectations, and addresses any violations relating to sportsmanship and ethical conduct by student-athletes or coaches.
- Communicates any violations or incidents to the Athletics Director promptly.
- Prepares accurate posting of all sport information data.
- Prepared for committee assignments and other duties such as teaching, event management for other sports
Conducts a recruiting/student enrollment program: - Recruits enough quality students to sustain the program.
- Understands the admission standards and the community standards and recruits to attract appropriate candidates.
- Establishes consistent communications with prospective students via calls, e-mail, letters, all allowable means of social media contact and home visits.
- Chronicles all contact in appropriate CRM. Coordinates psa visits with admissions.
- Communicates regularly with AD & Associate AD regarding recruiting.
- Develops a recruiting process/timeline & shares with AD.
Effectively works with students in balancing their academic/athletic responsibilities: - Monitors progress of and works with students who are experiencing academic or social difficulty. Ensures progress is not compromised by athletic activity.
- Supports their attendance at study hall in the case of first years or deficient grades.
- Establishes contact with professors regarding student attendance and engagement.
- Sends and collects the "schedule" letter to professors through students.
- Advises Athletics Director of any/all issues pertaining to individual student challenges/problems.
- Ensures that students in the program are encouraged to exemplify the high standards of Principia and takes corrective action, if appropriate.
- Conducts end-of-season meetings with all athletes.
- Provides an effective forum for "exit" interviews with senior athletes.
Fully participates in professional advancement: - Attends professional clinics and conferences/ stays current in field/sport through all relevant means.
- Joins and contributes to professional organizations
- Makes continuous progress in obtaining an advanced degree.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree required, master's preferred and/or working toward appropriate certification from your sport's national governing body.
- Three-five years' progressive collegiate coaching experience, head coach experience preferred-will consider recent experience at high school, amateur, or professional levels.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current coaching methodology and current rules.
- Ability to couple vision and initiative with experience and consistency to effectively manage the intercollegiate men's program.
- Ability to be an effective, professional role model for students.
- Demonstrates ability to recognize and recruit talent.
- Demonstrates knowledge and support of Principia policies.
- Understands and supports the practice of Christian Science.
- Willingness to turn readily to God for guidance.

Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive salary range for this position: $54,183-$67,790 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Initial offers for salary are based on ranges based on specific discipline and rank.
