Brief Job Description
Responsible for the organization, development, and leadership of a varsity intercollegiate women's basketball program in support of the mission and core values of the Athletic Department and Buffalo State University. Duties include hiring staff; recruiting and retaining top prospective student-athletes; establishing a competitive schedule; coordinating practice planning, skill development, and designing strategies which prepare team for competition; mentoring student-athletes; overseeing development initiatives; organizing camps; and budget management; collaborates with numerous athletic and University units; demonstrates adherence to University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. The head women's basketball coach is responsible for all aspects of coaching and administering the women's basketball program. Will perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics that are consistent with the skills and abilities related to this position and that address the University's strategic goals. This is an appendix B position not eligible for permanent appointment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; established record of basketball coaching at the collegiate level; proven ability to recruit and retain quality student-athletes; excellent communication skills; strong computer skills; a commitment to the values of NCAA Division III athletics; strong organizational and leadership skills
