Role: Head Chef - Upscale Restaurant / New Opening

An exciting new restaurant is opening soon in the heart of Palo Alto and we're searching for a passionate, hands-on Head Chef to help bring this vibrant, concept to life.
This is a rare opportunity to join a world-class hospitality group during the pre-opening phase of a highly anticipated new property. The ideal candidate will bring culinary leadership, a deep understanding of regional Mediterranean cuisines, and a people-first approach to team development and operations.
What You'll Do
- Lead all culinary operations in collaboration with the General Manager
- Uphold brand standards and execute menu vision with precision and consistency
- Act as a working chef-present on the line during peak service and key events
- Hire, train, and develop a high-performing BOH team
- Maintain strong food safety and sanitation practices
- Partner with support teams (culinary, marketing, finance, HR) to ensure operational success
- Manage kitchen inventory, labor scheduling, and food cost controls
What We're Looking For
- At least 5+ years in kitchen leadership roles
- Expertise in Mediterranean cuisine is a plus
- Proven ability to lead and develop a diverse, high-energy team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with ordering systems, cost management, and kitchen operations software
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- A collaborative, guest-driven mindset with the ability to inspire excellence
