Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team at a large, newly established care home in Bedfordshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation and service, and adhering to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management.
- Develop nutritious and appetizing meals tailored to meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs to meet budgetary requirements.
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Collaborate with care home management to enhance residents' dining experience.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, preferably within a care home or similar setting.
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on nutrition and dietary restrictions.
- Excellent leadership and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
