State Health Information Network for New York (SHINNY)

This position will support cloud support services, such as cloud integration technical assistance, cloud-based analytic and security programs, and training for Dept personnel on the use of cloud-based tools.

Day to Day Tasks:

Specific duties will include: designing webservices and applications including researching and documenting technical designs, programming solutions, and customer technical support; developing unit tests and testing processes autonomously to ensure conformity of the application with business requirements and implement change management; managing the release management process, including the testing, promoting and releasing of applications through the development environment; and guiding code critique sessions and overseeing the development of technical design documentation. Other related duties as assigned. The architect will also lead database design/development and user-interface enhancements.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Software Architect - Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.

Expert - 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

Requested Qualifications:
- 84 months of experience in the design, implementation and deployment of web applications, single page front end applications, REST backends.
- 84 months of experience designing and building cloud native and hybrid applications in AWS.
- 84 months of experience with data processing, ETL and analysis with Python using libraries Pandas, Numpy.
- 84 months of experience in design, implementation and deployment of system-to-system applications using REST APIs, REST Clients, Spring security.
- 60 months of experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Oracle, Postgres, DynamoDB.
- 60 months of experience in programming public sector government IT projects.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited institution.
