Harvest Lab and Cellar Technician Abeja Inn and Vineyards (Seasonal) Abeja is a one-of-a-kind destination for those seeking a truly special wine country experience. Located in Walla Walla on a serene 38-acres of estate vineyards, lavender fields and gardens, Abeja is a celebrated winery and distinctive Inn that creates a magical countryside oasis. Visitors will experience exclusive world-class Washington state wines, all crafted with care from the land, while staying in guest cottages that each share a different story about the rich history of the turn-of-the-century farmstead. The Harvest Lab and Cellar Technician position is a fantastic opportunity to get training and experience tracking and managing ferments from alcoholic fermentation through malolactic fermentation. The usual day will include running analysis on juice, must, and wine and preparing additions for the wines throughout the early life of the wine. Additional time may be spent in the cellar assisting with a wide range of harvest activities. Harvest lunches are provided. We strive to promote a fun, safe, and inclusive work environment.
This position generally starts late August and runs through early October but is subject to some variability depending on weather.

What you'll do:
The Brass Tacks
- Measurement of brix, temperature, pH, titratable acidity, alcohol.
- Detailed tracking and record keeping of analysis.
- Inoculations and additions of wine additives and yeast.
- Assist with cellar work as needed, fruit sorting, cap management, pressing, cleaning.
- Help maintain a clean and organized laboratory and workspace.
- Preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.
The Nitty Gritty - Helps maintain a fun, safe, and inclusive work environment.
- Previous experience, exposure, or interest in winery lab work or production.
- Ability to work occasional long hours.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working with ladders.
- Forklift experience is always a bonus.
- Previous harvest experience is a bonus but not required
