Hardware Test Engineer (IT /V&V) Onsite in Canonsburg, PA Pay Estimated: $45-$50/Hour This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.) As the Advanced Test Engineer in our Undersea Mission Solutions business area, you'll participate in the planning of technical approaches, resources, schedules, budgets and equipment required for the testing and evaluating of new systems, products and special devices Responsibilities: Utilizing your expert knowledge and understanding of test engineering concepts and principles, you'll prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and complete specifications and procedures throughout the engineering development lifecycle Establish and present test strategies, plans, and results to internal and external stakeholders.
Configure and document systems under test, including installation of software across multiple devices.
Develop and implement cost-effective procedures for testing and troubleshooting of components, subassemblies, assemblies, and full systems.
Create and maintain test plans, test procedures, test cases, traceability matrices, test reports, and test flow documentation.
Document test issues and failures, and analyze root causes and results.
Support formal systems acceptance testing and validation activities. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field and 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required by federal law) Experience in automated, manual, regression, and software testing
Proficiency with tools such as DOORS, JIRA, MATLAB, and familiarity with Agile methodologies
Knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, scripting languages, and system processes
Background in failure investigation and root cause analysis
