A well-known and respected Bitcoin Mining company are looking to hire a Hardware Technician who thrives in the weeds of circuit board design and repair. If you have a passion for microcontrollers, enjoy soldering, and love figuring out what went wrong at the system level, this is the role for you.
Responsibilities of the Hardware Technician include:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair hardware issues at the component and board level.
- Replace and rework components such as processors and memory modules.
- Analyze and interpret circuit designs and engineering decisions.
- Identify faults at both the physical and internal system level (e.g., memory corruption, processor failure, trace damage).
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation of hardware products.
- Collaborate with engineers to provide feedback on design for manufacturability and serviceability.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and digital electronics.
- Solid soldering skills and comfort working under a microscope with fine-pitch components.
- A degree, diploma, or demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related field (no license required).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and board layouts.
- A methodical, curious mindset and comfort working independently on deep-dive troubleshooting tasks.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, or JTAG tools.
- Previous work with embedded software or firmware debugging (light exposure helpful).
- Prior experience in hardware R&D, repair centers, or electronics manufacturing environments.
The team are offering $140,000 on the base for this role, with flexibility for the right candidate.
