Concepts, plans and implements project-related system controls hardware under the direction of the Controls Engineering Manager. Often works on several concurrent projects. Must also strive to maintain or improve upon the allotted project budget for the tasks they are responsible for.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop controls-related drawings in AutoCAD Electrical or Eplan for customer approval, installation and for maintenance manuals
Develop standard drawings in for commonly used control panels and hardware
Improve and streamline the hardware design process to save time and costs on projects
Improve the accuracy, quality, and consistency of controls hardware design drawings on projects
Evaluate controls-related issues that may arise, inform the Controls Engineering Manager of the issues and help formulate and execute appropriate actions to mitigate those issues
Travel as necessary for the purpose of project: meetings; implementation; coordination; and commissioning
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
o Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline with minimum 2 years experience as a material handling/machine tool Controls Engineer OR 5 or more years of previous, successful material handing/machine tool Controls Engineer experience
o Formal training OR demonstrated skill and experience in the software applications required to successfully execute the responsibilities of this position
o Through knowledge of the National Electrical Code and related electrical requirements
