The Gynecology Clinical Educator & Expert Trainer is responsible for training healthcare providers in performing pelvic exams and other gynecological procedures, ensuring adherence to evidence-based care. This role does not include obstetrics but focuses solely on gynecology. The individual will serve as the expert in gynecological best practices, providing hands-on training, clinical oversight, and guidance to maintain the highest standard of patient care. This role is essential in ensuring that all providers are well-trained, competent, and aligned with best practices in gynecological care.
This role involves hands-on instruction, competency assessments, and ongoing mentorship, serving as the primary resource for clinical expertise. The educator will shadow providers to evaluate technique, provide direct feedback, and standardize best practices across Student Health Services. Additionally, they will collaborate with leadership to enhance quality improvement initiatives, develop provider resources, and support integrated patient care. Candidates should have advanced clinical training in gynecology ,extensive experience in procedural education, and strong communication and leadership skills. This position is crucial in maintaining high-quality gynecological care by ensuring providers are well-trained, competent, and aligned with best practices.
The ideal candidate has track record of innovative problem-solving, culturally competent care, and effective leadership in a student health or primary care, outpatient setting. They should possess the ability to engage and mentor staff, communicate empathetically, and cultivate a clinical environment that prioritizes excellence, mutual respect, and trust.
Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and New York State electronic prescribing protocols is essential. Additionally, the Lead Physician will participate in health education, community outreach, and university-wide wellness initiatives, supporting the vast health needs of students.
