Title: Guidewire Solutions Architect

Location: Remote (Must be willing to travel to Salem, OR occasionally)

Employment Type: Full-Time / Direct Hire


About the Role:

We're seeking a seasoned Guidewire Solutions Architect to help modernize core insurance systems, improve user experience, and define future-ready solutions.

This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with a strong background in architecture, system modernization, and the Guidewire platform-especially PolicyCenter and BillingCenter. Experience with GOSU is preferred. If you don't have Guidewire experience, strong insurance domain knowledge and Java proficiency may be considered instead.


What You'll Do:

  • Lead solution architecture efforts for application development and modernization.
  • Define technical roadmaps, identify architectural gaps, and streamline development sequencing.
  • Drive innovation, technology migration, and scalable system design.
  • Evaluate new technologies and propose modern, business-aligned solutions.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects to ensure alignment with overall IT strategy.
  • Work closely with developers, tech leads, and program managers to assess current and future-state architectures.
  • Build proofs-of-concept, troubleshoot issues, and guide technical implementation.
  • Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Influence tool and platform decisions; support third-party software selection.
  • Help shape QA strategy and promote test automation aligned with architectural standards.
  • Lead technical design sessions and resolve architectural trade-offs.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative team environment.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years in software engineering and architecture roles.
  • Strong experience with Guidewire (PolicyCenter and/or BillingCenter).
  • Hands-on with GOSU and solid Java knowledge.
  • Deep understanding of application architecture and enterprise design patterns.
  • Agile development experience; comfortable working across teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Remote-friendly, but travel to Salem, OR is required as needed.
  • Must reside in one of the following states:

AL, AZ, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, MI, MO, NE, NV, NC, ND, OH, OR, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI
