Are you enthusiastic, adaptable, and ready to take on a variety of roles? We are looking for a friendly and motivated part-time seasonal Guest Experience Associate to work 20-30 hours per week for this summer season. In this dynamic position, you'll gain hands-on experience in the daily operations of a small, welcoming beachside hotel. A great candidate for this role will arrive to work with an enthusiastic attitude ready to take on the day. We are looking for someone to operate the front desk, clean and prepare rooms for arrivals, help with laundry and bartend at our summer beach bar. Training/bartender certification will be provided if needed.
This position is great for students interested in studying hospitality looking to build their resume- or someone looking to build real-world experiences. Responsibilities
• Regular attendance and reporting to work on time, ready to begin your shift is an essential function of employment (being tardy places an unfair burden on the team)
• Welcome and check-in guests in a friendly and efficient manner, demonstrate excellent customer service and phone etiquette
• Prepare breakfast in a timely and efficient manner ensuring accurate portions, and adherence to the designated daily menu.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and prep area at all times; promptly wash dishes and sanitize all utensils and equipment after use.
• Maintain full knowledge of all room types, features, locations, rates
• Actively check on guests on the beach, ensuring fresh towels are present, everyone has drinks and snacks and chairs.
• May be first point of contact during any emergency; be familiar with all emergency procedures as documented in hotel Emergency Manuals
• Accurately handle all in-house accounts including guest names, room charges, methods of payment, special requests, etc.
• Handle services for guests including guest mail, messages, telephone calls, faxes, wake-up calls, after-hours requests (i.e., extra towels, pillows etc.) ,and general inquiries
• Confirm guest satisfaction at
• Complete all rooms assigned to you including departures and refreshes in a timely manner with these constraints (timing based on 1 Room Attendant cleaning the unit):
• Complete tasks according to required standards within set time limits (i.e., minutes per occupied room)
• Stock cart sufficiently based on room assignments
• Up-sell/suggestively sell food and beverages by describing each item in an appealing way to increase check average and broaden guest' experience
• Accurately ring in orders on POS (Point of sales) quickly, in proper sequence and use appropriate charges
• Assure needs of guests are continually being met in a courteous and professional manner throughout the duration of their visit
• Maintain food and beverage control (i.e., liquor portion control, age verification); follow guidelines and practices outlined in TIPs training
Qualifications
• 1+ year of hotel industry experience or related job preferred
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent
• Flexible schedule (weekends, holidays)
• Must be comfortable with food prep. Experience in working with food is not needed, but a big plus
• Working knowledge of Google Docs and hotel reservation systems preferred
• Enjoy meeting new people and making them feel welcome
• Comfortable taking telephone calls and mitigating stressful situations
